Dr. Austin Askey was born and raised in Albany, GA. He graduated from Lee County High School in 2012, then attended Darton State College where he earned his AA in Biological Science in 2014. After this, Austin transferred to the University of Georgia and earned his BS in Biology in 2016. Dr. Askey graduated from LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, FL. At LECOM, he served on Student Government all four years of dental school, and served as Student Body President in his third year. Dr. Askey was also the recipient of the International College of Dentists, USA Section: Student Leadership Award and the Distinguished Leadership Award.
Dr. Askey is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
In his free time, Dr. Askey enjoys playing music, spending time with friends and family, and watching sports - especially the Georgia Bulldogs!
Dr. Jernigan played basketball for Shorter University in Rome, GA, where he majored in Biology with a focus on pre-dental. After graduation, Joshua attended the Dental College of Georgia where he pursued his professional dream of becoming a dentist.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Jernigan takes an avid interest in a a number of things including: attending church and small groups, playing competitive sports (particularly basketball), backpacking out on the trails, working out at CrossFit, reading fiction and manga books, going to the movies, and generally hanging out with a great group of people talking and playing board games.
Though not a Southwest Georgia native, Dr. Jernigan is incredibly excited to get invested in the Albany community and help with all its dental needs!
